Across the country Queen is the most popular size, but there are many factors to consider before choosing a size! How many people will be sleeping in the bed? If it’s for a single person you want to choose the best size for the room and for your body size. If you’re tall, XL is a good choice. If it’s for you and your partner, then you have to consider body size, movement, room size, furniture and costs. A queen split between two people is like each person sleeping on a cot size mattress, its 30” per person. Is that enough or do you need more?
No, Coddle (mattress) is designed to sleep cool and so it does. Maybe better than any other mattres out there.
Over heating is one of the biggest challenges facing mattress designers and is one of our key differentiators. We use temperature and pressure neutral foam that neutralizes temperature and climate. Memory foams are typically temperature sensitive meaning they heat – our proprietary memory foams do not and ours stay COOL! Between the Italian technology and a lot od R&D, we have a breathable memory foam that balances out temperature. Climate is no longer an issue for this mattress will feel the same in the Arizona desert or in blizzard conditions in Minnesota; whether you have the heat on or the Ac in full blast. You know this foam is special when you just touch it!
We also built in hundreds of massaging nodes that have total air circulation that help to keep your mattress cool.
The fabric in our Sleep line has gone thru some rigorous thermal imaging and heat retention testing. This premier Belgian made high definition micro denier fabric coddles your body and keeps you cool.
No! Next to sleeping hot, the other big problem with mattresses is sagging where you need the most support. Coddle is designed with Dual Core Support TechnologyTMbecause one of our trademarks is reversible comfort. When you have two totally different comforts you have to achieve the proper support for each of those comforts without one overpowering the other side. You have to create the perfect balance, so the core of the mattress became the focal point. This mattress uniquely has two support cores, one supports the Italian coconut infused super plush memory foam comfort side and the other supports the firm, yet lively latex-like performing comfort side…the result is no sagging and no bottoming out every night throughout your life with this mattress! Nature and Science come together to create Coddle.
Not really. High performance foams want to lay flat and be in sleep mode. Coddle mattresses are intended for lifetime use. Once out of the box, a mattress will not recompress or roll up like an airbed without technology. If you aren’t using it as your primary mattress, we recommend storing it fully opened and laid flat. It can also be temporarily stored on its side.
All Coddle foams are all CertiPUR® certified, requiring that they are made without formaldehyde, ozone depleters, mercury, lead, and other heavy metals. This certification also requires the foam to have low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) emissions for indoor air quality (less than 0.5 parts per million Coddle is a preferred place to purchase environment friendly products! We invite you to learn about CertiPur at www.certipur.us.
Coddle (mattress) design does provide isolation of motion for each partner while also giving you a built-in tri zone support for your head, neck and leg area. Traditional spring mattress have a hard time competing with this. We do have a medical grade zoning for the head, torso, and legs area that gives you hundreds of nodes that feel like the massage your body into never never land. These nodes we designed in dual core support help to achieve the perfect balance of motion isolation and total comfort
Most new products have a mild scent upon opening..new cars certainly do and new car scent is bottled and sold! Should your Coddle mattress have a scent, it will dissipate in a few hours in a well-ventilated room. Though our water-based adhesive is more expensive, it eliminates unnecessary chemicals in your bed, which was a very important factor in our design process.
No! Coddle mattresses do not contain any flame retardant chemicals. Instead we use a proprietary woven silica sock that wraps around the mattress to protect it from fires. It sits between the mattress and the mattress cover. In the event of a fire, the sock melts on itself and suffocates the oxygen needed for the fire to burn. Clever stuff and very safe.
The Coddle (mattress) has a 11″ profile which means the Coddle (mattress) is suited to all standard size sheets.
Yes! The mattresses are vegan! It’s even infused with natural coconut oil to for added benefits in Health and Wellness.
The federal government requires all mattresses sold in the US to meet stringent burn tests, as governed by 16 CFR 1633 and 1632.
We have a double wrap of the fire retardant knit sock that encases the foam before the outer cover is placed on our mattresses. The knit sock is made from a proprietary yarn with a silica core and a polyester/acrylic/nylon/rayon outer wrap. When the yarn burns, a char barrier is formed, which prevents oxygen from feeding the flames.
All the foams in our mattresses have environmental certifications that ensure they are safe and non-toxic. Every layer is CertiPUR certified.
CertiPUR-US® approved foams are made without ozone depleters, PBDE flame retardants, mercury, lead and other heavy metals, formaldehyde, phthalates regulated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission. They are Low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) emissions for indoor air quality (less than 0.5 parts per million.
Our high definition micro-tencel is also safe from Prop 65.
Yes, you can absolutely use a heating pad with any of your Coddle Sleep products!
Yes, the Coddle (mattress) will work well on the lower bunk, but check the height on the top bunk because most top bunks have low safety rails, so the 11 inch height of the mattress may pose a risk of rolling off the upper bunk. You should check the size as bunk beds can be Twin, TXL or Full!
Your Coddle (mattress) is pretty robust; if it can withstand the force it took to get it inside that compact box and fully recover, then any body weight is a synch! Our mattresses do not have weight restrictions and are designed to support all shapes and sizes.
Comfort however is another story when it comes to weight. Since Coddle’s designed two comforts in one, and each person may have a different vision of what is plush and firm. Comfort is subjective, no matter what your weight is! Enjoy both sides…the more you interact with your mattress, the longer it will last.
Keep in mind, Coddle always recommends using your mattress on a firm, slatted or flat, supportive base such as a platform bed, foundation, or heavy duty wooden slats (3-4 inches apart) for peak performance.
Yes, much like a new pair of shoes, your body has to adjust to a new sleep surface! We do offer 100 test nights to help during the transition — use them! Test out both sides! Find your favorite today…it may be different tomorrow. You may need some time to adjust with Coddle products — your muscles need to unlearn bad habits and get acclimated to the comfort options on each side. added support that the Coddle provides.
We encourage all our customers to coddle their mattress for at least a month and rest on the pillow for at least two weeks to best evaluate the products.

The type of support that sits under your Coddle is just as important as the different layers of foam. It can ultimately affect the lifespan and performance of the mattressWe reaaly just require you to place your Coddle (mattress) on a firm, solid or slatted foundation of your choice. We are here to advise you if you have any questions. Furniture stores have a wide variety to choose from
Yes, Standard size sheets will fit on your mattress. As long as your sheets are compatible with a 11” high mattress, they will absolutely fit your Coddle (mattress)!
Sometimes it’s hard to beat that climbing into a big bed feeling and being coddled in comfort once you get there. Seek out your favorite platform bed and order it with a heavy duty foundation (not a boxspring with springs)it.
As a bonus to adding height, a good foundation improves a mattress’s overall performance. Foundations provide additional support that helps to distribute weight evenly to generate a uniform extra support that stays consistently comfortable for longer.
Yes you can! However, those frames require a firm, solid or slatted surface to give your mattress the proper support it needs. A foundation, bunkie board, plywood, or thick wooden slats spaced under 4″ apart will all work! A foundation would add the most height off the floor. A boxspring has too much bounce and is unacceptable support for a foam mattress and it will negate your warranty.
If you have any questions about a specific setup, our customer service team is ready to help.
You may sleep on your new Coddle (mattress) immediately! Please note that it may take up to 24 hours for your mattress to fully recover from being compressed. (Our packaging is a credit to the quality products we use for it takes high density/high performance foams to withstand the force it takes to compress an 11″ mattress into a compact box…and then fully recover from that process!) Your biggest decision will be deciding on which comfort side to sleep on
A foundation is a 6-8″ wood platform that can be slatted on both sides or plywood on both sides. Its main purpose is to raise the mattress off the ground and provide a firm solid sleeping surface that works well with foam mattresses. A bunkie board is a low profile (2-3″) mini foundation…no springs are inside! The thicker this unit is, the better! These are usually placed underneath childrens beds or older traditional mattress and box spring set
A box spring looks like a foundation, but instead of being all wood, they have thick springs inside the wood unit. They are around 6-8” tall and are used in conjunction with a spring mattress to provide shock absorption and additional support.
Our designer prefers a platform bed or a heavy duty foundation for proper support for foam mattresses! A platform bed is basically a foundation with legs!
Coddle mattresses are compatible with Murphy beds depending on the available clearance for mattress thickness and on how often the bed is used.
If you do opt for a Murphy bed for your platform, please make sure it allows for the 11″ profile of the mattress and will support your Coddle (mattress) on all 4 sides since your mattress will be stored upright.

We highly recommend to flip and rotate the Coddle mattresses periodically and as often as possible. The more interactive you are with your mattress, the longer it will last. Flipping actually extends the life of this unique double sided dual comfort mattress. are not designed to be flipped. The usable life can be extended by 50%! Our foam is precompressed, its almost like pre-washed…we already exerted the harshest force on the foam it should see for its life, so the more you rotate it around and flip it, the foam self-heals and that process eliminates body impressions! The foams are strategically layered to work in unison together.
If you start to feel restless and can’t sleep, you could simply flip the bed over to experience the ‘other’ comfort. Lively firm, like latex or plush body contouring and pressure reducing? Can your bed do that?
We promote a clean healthy sleep! You can unzip your cover and dry clean your cover or cold water wash it, line dry it and zip it back on! If it’s not that bad, you can spot clean your cover. remove the cover and gently dab and spot clean with a mild detergent. It is wise to avoid heat as that might cause the cover to shrink. Please make sure that the cleaned area is dry before zipping your cover back on and putting sheets back over the mattress! Mattress protectors can add even more protection, however keep in mind that the covers may reduce breathability.
If you’d like to purchase a replacement cover for your mattress, our Customer Service team is ready to help! Please reach out to them by emailing customerservice@coddleme.com.
Your sleep is important to your health and well being. Your body changes daily. Our rule of thumb is once you find yourself tossing and turning, notices aches and pains…it might be time to change out your sleep equipment. Conventional wisdom would like you to change out your mattress every 8-10 years. You have to consider how often you use the mattress and how well you care for it, but it’s a good rule of thumb for your primary bed’s life cycle
It’s important to remember that any mattress worth its salt should last at least 8 years. If you’ve been sleeping on a bed for a short time, and it’s already sagging or giving you back pain — you probably don’t have a high-quality mattress. The great thing about Coddle mattresses is that our warranty covers a full 10 years, so you’re guaranteed to have restful, rejuvenating sleep year after year.
To extend the life cycle of your mattress, it’s also important to take proper care of it. Rotating and experiencing both sides comfort often only extends the life of your mattress and will allow for even wear and tear
Our mattresses will not fit back inside the box they came in! We recommend covering it with plastic, bending it in half and temporarily securing it with bungee cords while you move. Another popular option is using mattress boxes available through moving companies
All Coddle mattresses come with a 10-year warranty and an open line to our dedicated Sleep Experience team. They work tirelessly — day and night — to make sure every customer is sleeping soundly on their Coddle (mattress).
A Coddle (mattress) will remain just as comfortable as the day you unboxed it as long as you interactively use and care for the mattress. Our thoughtfully designed reversible comfort four-layer dual core construction ensures that your mattress will retain its shape and support.
It’s a combination of Italian Technology, American Design, and advanced high performance hybrid foam that make the Coddle Coddle (mattress) so special. Unlike spring mattresses, which tend to break down quickly with compression, our foams are designed to keep you comfortable and relaxed throughout the years. Our design result in a durable, comfortable, and supportive product from the moment you jump into your mattress
Life is short, Love the sleep you’re in!
Through rigorous testing, advanced technology and 135 years of mattress design and manufacturing experience! We test our mattresses to AS F1566, which is the recognized industry standard for durability, firmness retention, and surface deformation.
During a roll test a 240lb roller is rolled back and forth 100,000 times to simulates 10 years of use. In the compression test, a 230-pound load to each mattress at 100 cycles per minute, both durability tests give you stats on estimation of life. Each Coddle (mattress) has passed both tests, we backed our mattresses with a 10-year warranty to make sure you feel as confident about the sleep you’re in!
